Oliver and Cho - Gellys night
Who: Oliver and Cho
When: Saturday night, before the Gellys
Where: starting at Oliver's flat
What: Oliver makes up for tricking Cho into thinking they were engaged with a decoy ring by pulling out the real one.
Truth be told, Oliver Wood had very little interest in going to the Gellys. Sure, as Captain of Puddlemere and king of the shirtless Witch Weekly spread, he got one of those "random" invites that they sent out to a certain number of starters every year without fail, but he'd never bothered to go before. After all, it was a music event, not a Quidditch one, and as much as he believed in playing the PR game there was a limit to the time he wanted to spend on that part of being a Quidditch star. But when Cho had opened the envelop for him this year, the excited look on her face had guaranteed that Oliver Wood would be walking the diamond carpet this year. Really, WWN ought to have sent her a gift basket, though he suspected the swag tables at the after parties would handle that angle nicely. Now those he'd been to before.
But watching Cho lean into the light shining down in front of the mirror, her black hair falling over her shoulders, sleek with nearly the same sheen as her red satin dress, he was struck by a singular moment of clarity. She was so perfect, so incredibly beautiful, but she was missing something very important. And it was time to fix it. Maybe that would be enough to get a horse Patronus out of her.
He stepped in next to her and kissed her cheek. "I'm going to go up on the roof and get some air. Come get me when you're ready to go, yeah?"
