Pressing up against him, Verity pulled an appropriately sad face and kissed his hand again. "I had plans for that hand," she responded, hoping Fred knew how terrified she'd been when she'd found out he'd been hurt. She joked a lot; humour was her default, she used it as a defence mechanism and as a generic response, and she wasn't too good with real emotions and expressing them. She wasn't sure how to make Fred understand just how much he meant to her.
