Who: Cho Chang Where: Outside Flourish and Blott's When: About eight-ish. What: Best friends need to be remembered.
It was dark, but not too late, when Cho apparated to The Leaky Cauldron. Pulling her wand out of her navy blue cloak, she moved into the back courtyard and tapped the appropriate brick. The wall folded out and Cho walked through the arch almost the moment she could fit.
She moved briskly towards Flourish and Blott’s, hoping her attire and manner would be enough of a deterrent to turn away pesky stall owners who hadn’t yet gone home for the night, but not so suspicious to attract attention. She had been avoiding visiting for almost six months, but it was about time. At any rate, it was the closest place she was getting to a proper memorial, and she would make use of that.
As she approached the building, she slowed. She was filled with conflicting emotions, and fought the urge to just turn back.
By the time Cho was outside the window, she was trying desperately not to cry. That would be a sure sign that something was up, and she definitely didn’t want to end up with a fate matching Marietta’s. But she had made it this far, so she could do what she had intended.
Pulling her wand out of her robe, she murmured, “Orchideous” and a bouquet of flowers appeared from the tip of her wand. They were white carnations, but Cho hardly noticed as she dropped them at her feet, scattering them slightly.
“I miss you,” Cho whispered, voice barely audible for even herself. Tears, which had been so fiercely fought, finally became overwhelming, and streamed down her face.
“I’ll never forget.”
As the first teardrop fell to the ground, Cho turned swiftly back in the direction of The Leaky Cauldron, cloak sweeping a couple of the flowers as she left. Before she reached the arch though, she turned back to where she had come from.
Tears were streaming down her face, and she whispered, “Good bye,” before turning on her heel and apparating back to her flat, where she spent her evening crying until she fell asleep.
