The moment she heard Remus's voice, Tonks stopped, and it was as if a great weight had been lifted off of her shoulders. She went to him without hesitation, taking his hand and giving him a lingering kiss as a greeting. As always, it had been too long, though she supposed there was a very good chance they would be seeing much more of each other, either through her being fired or after this ordeal ended. Or this could possibly be the last time they saw each other for a very long time. That was a possibility she didn't want to entertain.
"It's an illusion," she said as she stepped away, still holding his hand. "It doesn't take much when magic's involved. How are you? Thank you for coming--sorry it's on such short notice."
She nodded down the corridor. "My quarters are just there. Think you might be up for a bit of a chat? I promise not to try to shag you." Though she thought that might count as incentive instead, so she forced herself to add teasingly, "More than twice."
