Katie, herself, was much more subdued than normal. She smiled at the twins in greeting, but it didn't reach her eyes and she didn't joke with them they way she normally would. She didn't have room in her head for teasing when she was so worried.
"They might be watching the floo, right?" she answered Fred's question with a thoughtful frown. Apparating straight in wouldn't be a good idea, either, just in case. Katie had to bite down on her lip before she could finish that thought, even if it wasn't out loud.
"There's a spot just outside the village." She pulled out a piece of parchment and sketched a rough map to illustrate. "I think the safest would be to apparate to that spot and walk in from there. Better than popping straight into the house, just in case..." She didn't finish the thought out loud, either. There was no point. They all knew what she meant. She hated the thought that she could be putting her friends in danger at all and she wanted to be smart about this.
