Penny liked his grin, it was slow and took an age to spread over her face. It changed the angles of his face and for a brief half-second she didn't notice the fact he'd tried to pay for his own meal.
"Don't be silly. Its taken care of."
The waitress with her frizzing grey hair and shoes that reminded her of plimsols smirked at them both as she dumped Penny's change onto the table "You can keep your change my little sparrow, but feel free to come around here anytime."
Penny kept her face poker straight as the elder woman bustled off again to busy herself with the sauce bottles. "Doing well is an understatement. You have women throwing themselves at you daily. Thats a lot of hearts to break in one go."
