Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Characters: Luna Lovegood, Open
Setting: Cafe and books.
Summary: Hot Chocolate is for shock.
Rating: PG

After hearing the official news about Lucy, Luna had taken herself out of the office and out to the Cafe. Later she would write up an obituary for the Quibbler, now was the time for reflection.  She genuinely hoped the bad times were not returning, but if they were what was to be done. Sure they could all be on the alert but really what did that do? Other than make people tense and paranoid.  It would be the random arrests all over again if they weren't careful.

Sighing, Luna ordered a large hot chocolate at the counter and a croissant and went to find a table.  For the most part she considered herself a pretty strong person but even the idea of going through this all over again made her feel tired. What was needed was a new point of view, where she was going to find that she wasn't sure but that was a smaller issue. For now she just had to be on the look out for the positive and it would find her. The server brought her the rich hot chocolate and while it wasn't as good as the spicy ones she had enjoyed during her time in Peru it was still soothing.

They hadn't been able to get to her in time.

That was the thought consuming Cho's mind as she walked briskly down the street; she needed a way to try and calm herself down and going for long walks in cold weather always seemed to do the trick, although right now all she felt was lots of anger and regret and a sickening feeling of injustice. It wasn't how her mother had raised her to be, but what could she do? She hadn't known Lucy very well, but from what she remembered, she'd been a sweet girl and didn't deserve this.

Her stomach grumbled as she walked past the cafe and smelled the freshly-baked breads and sweets inside. Maybe having a fuller stomach would make her feel a bit better. Cho ducked inside and looked around, and felt a sense of relief when she spotted a familiar face - "Luna!" She called out, making her way towards her friend.

Hearing her name Luna looked up and smiled. She hadn't seen Cho in ages and she waved as her old friend made her way over.

"Oh Cho, good to see you. Can I get you anything. The hot chocolate isn't too bad here." She suggested.

Cho went over and sat down across from Luna, taking off her pea-coat and setting it on the back of the chair before she sat down. She looked over at the display case and tried to decide if she wanted anything, and if she did, what it would be. Maybe just a bagel.

"It's been a while," she said, smiling at her friend, "have you been well?"

Luna waited as Cho looked over her choices in the cabinet smiling as her friend returned.

"Well you know I had the world to explore. If it wasn't for Daddy needing me here I would have stayed gone. So much out there to see and discover." She admitted. "I have been well though and yourself?"

It was great to see Luna again; she'd always thought of her like a little sister and it was good to hear she was enjoying herself. "I'm just starting my second year of being a certified Auror," she said proudly, grinning from ear to ear. "I absolutely love it."

She was pleased to hear that Cho was doing well, it was surprising to hear that she had become and Auror but if she was happy that was all that mattered. "Oh that's lovely Cho! I interviewed a Auror the other day. He was rather fit." She admitted.

Luna sipped at her chocolate. "And I got a puppy, although I think I'm the one being trained rather than him being trained."

Maybe it was unexpected; her becoming an Auror. Cho's father definitely wasn't fond of her choice, but doing this gave her a feeling like she was doing something important. "Oh--you interviewed Montague, right?"

Cho grinned. "I love dogs! How old is he?"

Nodding, Luna grinned, "I think I caught him a bit off guard with my interviewing style since we're not like The Propheth but I had fun." With the topic changing to Cyril, Luna laughed.

"Oh Cho, he's nearly six months old and a total mess. I don't know what I'm going to do with him honestly. I think I've got him mostly housebroken and he has me trained to keep my shoes on the shelf."

"As long as you had a good time, and gave him some trouble," Cho said, chuckling. Teasing her friends and coworkers was part of her daily routine and she hoped that other people participated as well.

"He's trained you? Oh dear... Do you want any help?" She shrugged. "I'm not an expert at all, but maybe if two people try it'll work better. I'm sure there's a book out there on raising pets somewhere."

"Oh I'm sure I left him feeling pretty baffled but it was all good and the interview was well received"

Shaking her head Luna mostly laughed. "Cho, it's a mess. Part of me wishes he wasn't so smart. He just gets this look in his eye and barks at me when I tell him no. By all means come over and see if you have any better luck, because I've been tempted to use Imperio on him"
