My dear Quibbler readers, it has come to my attention that the Ministry is currently investigating the missing persons case of Lucy Elkins. I had the priviledge of talking to Auror Montague to see how the case is going.
LL: Auror Montague, would you say that Ms Elkins has met with foul play?
PM: I wouldn’t necessarily call it foul play yet, but we’re not ruling it out. The girl has not been seen in the few days before her disappearance, and the inside of her home points to that, however, none of her neighbors were able to finger anything out of the ordinary.
LL: Do you know if Ms Elkins has a history of reckless behaviour?
PM: As far as our records show, she does not have a history of ill behaviour with the law, no.
LL: What about with other magical beings? Does she have good relations with them?
PM: As far as we can tell she didn’t have any negative relations with other magical beings.
LL: Excellent, I do like hearing people getting along with everyone. Now have you tried using seers to contact Ms Elkins? Perhaps she’s beyond the veil.
PM: Beyond the- oh. Well, we’ve had quite a few people write in with claims that they’ve “seen” her in dream prophecies, however, only one of those has proven to be helpful. Unfortunately, we’ve received more than our fair share of off the wall, crack potted ideas, some even claiming that she’s on Mars. Which I can say with certainty, she is not on Mars.
LL: Well, I’m glad to hear we’ve ruled out Mars. I’ve heard it’s very inhospitable climate wise despite the lovely view. I’m sure it’s very frustrating dealing with so many so called seers. Too few have the true gift and know how to use it. Have you been able to follow up on the dream lead?
PM: We’re currently working on that. Ron Weasley and Harold Dingle are also working the case and we’ve been working hard to try and decipher some of what was given to us. We’ve managed to crack a few things, so this dream is looking promising.
LL: How likely is it that it’s Ms Elkins’ ghost sending you these dreams?
PM: On a scale to one to ten, I’d say a three. However, that’s just my personal view, and the fact of the matter is, I have no idea how these things work. And I’m still holding out that Ms. Elkins is still alive.
LL: Nice to talk to positive Auror once in a while. So your partner Harold, is he your romantic partner as well?
PM: What?! No. We’re just friends, and have been for a long time. So, no we’re not romantically involved in any way.
LL: Oh, ok. Well thank you for clearing that up Auror Montague. Now back to Ms Elkins, how likely do you think it is that she’s simply gone on walk about?
PM: I think someone would have seen something if she had done that. And if that turns out to be the case, then just one more thing to try and explain. So if anyone has witnessed something and hasn’t spoken up, we’re encouraging anyone to please do so.
LL: Hear that readers? The Aurors are asking for your help. If you’ve genuinely seen Ms Elkins please contact them in an orderly fashion. Please though do not waste their time hoping for fame and fortune, there are easier ways.
So, Auror Montague anything else you’d like to tell us about the case?
PM: At this time I don’t have anything else to add about the case. However, I would like to remind everyone that home security is the first step to prevention, and that’s its not necessary to go overboard and start hexing one another when it’s not needed.
There you have it readers, a first hand account on the missing persons case of Lucy Elkins, I and the Quibbler will do our best to keep you informed about her whereabouts and any more leads in the case.
