Home Destroyed, Family Missing Betty Braithwaite
The home of Xenophilius Lovegood, editor of The Quibbler and longtime friend of many here at The Daily Prophet, was found completely demolished yesterday when friends went to call on the eccentric household name. The home was near the village of Ottery St. Catchpole, and Xenophilius and his daughter Luna resided there but have not been seen in several days. Friends fear the worst.
"It was just a mess of rubble," said elderly neighbor Theodocia Feelius, "can't see how anyone would have survived that."
It has also been confirmed that Miss Lovegood did not return to Hogwarts for the start of term, held back by her father who, no doubt, dreaded her return to a school which knowingly flaunts Ministry regulations and which harbors dangerous fugitives with our children.
Neighbors report a group of feral looking teenagers approaching the house early on the morning that it was destroyed, and from their descriptions the fugitives Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley, and Hermione Granger have added this to the long list of attacks and destructive events they are responsible for. If anyone sees these three, currently labeled by the Ministry as Undesireables Number One, Two, and Three respectively, they should be immediately detained by any means necessary until the proper authorities are summoned. |

The radio shifted through static until, hidden between airwaves, it clicked to white noise. Across England, those who'd been told directly or heard about it second-hand from someone else, those hiding from the Ministry, or hiding their friends, or just in fear or confusion about what was happening, all waited for that white noise and haltingly, unsure, spoke the password.
Dumbledore.
( Through the crackling, on a tenuous, stolen signal, a voice that was familiar to some came out. ) |
