"No, I'm fine," he said cheerfully, sitting up and swinging Gabe onto his lap so Tonks could pull on his shoes. "Ready to get this over and done with so we can play, right mate?"
He tickled Gabe and the boy squirmed in his lap, giggling.
"Don't worry about me," he said, bending over Gabe to kiss the top on Tonks' head. "Just a head cold- I get them all the time, you know that. I'll be fine."
Scooting Gabe off his lap once his shoes were on, Remus stood and stretched widely, scrubbing sleep from his face with his palm.
"Let's go, bud," he said, extending a hand to Gabe. "We're going to take the Floo, remember? And you're going to see where you Da goes. And then I'll be back in the morning, right?"
"Right!" Gabe said, enthused. "And I'll bring you some things to bed!"
He laughed softly.
"Yes, sure. Maybe some tea."
"And my dog!"
Gabe had a stuffed dog that he was incredibly fond of.
