Hesitantly, Delaney stepped up to order, a little dismayed to find that there were only two dishes on order, but a little intrigued nonetheless. She felt a big like Elvira Mudge, discovering the lives and customs of the uncultured Muggles back in the 1540s - rather like Jane Goodall discovering the apes. A glance around the restaurant, if it could be called as much, assured her that her thought would be best kept inside her head until she was with a very different crowd.
She pointed, after a pause, to something that looked like meat and vegetables on top of a bed of noodles - and therefore looked safe and at least marginally edible - paid, and went to join Gretchen.
"Do you come here often?" she asked, congratulating herself for keeping the tinge of horror right out of her voice. "It's certainly... an experience."
