Taking their time
Who: Percy Weasley and Lavender Brown When: Friday, August 6th, 2003 Where: Lavender's neighborhood (he'd love to convince her to allow him to take her to a nice beach) What: A little date or walk between admiring friends Rating: PG probably Open/Closed: Closed
He had decided to cut out at lunchtime, and with a small basket (shrunk to fit in his pocket) and a box that contained a single lavender shaded rose, Percy left the office without a backwards glance.
It still baffled him how he could let things consume his time, even as his heart lamented his lonely state; he had so yearned to do this, to simply meet her at her house and take her for a nice walk. It would be their first date, of a sort. And he needed to see her, hoping Fred had forgotten his dare. Percy shuddered to think what blatant way Fred would try to scheme out some sort of interaction between Percy and Lavender. Fred was ruthless about some things, and it was usually Percy's pride that got wounded; he did not want to embarrass himself or Lavender. So he'd made up his mind that he had to just go for it. He hoped she remembered that he was coming still.
Apparating to a familiar shielded spot, Percy stepped out, dressed in a casual jacket and tan pants. He had on dockers, and a blue shirt, and looking both ways, he crossed her quiet street and moved up her walk. He was nervous as hell, excited and hopeful that she would be as happy to see him as he would be to see her. It had been too long since his last visit, and he knew she'd gone through another cycle. He hoped it hadn't been on her own. That notion bothered him terribly.
He stepped up to the door, and paused to listen for piano music before knocking soundly, announcing his arrival.
