Money had never been an issue for her. Her parents had been well-off enough, and she'd made a tidy sum as an Auror, most of which she'd put into savings. She had a cushion for several years, which she'd intended on just in case she'd ever been fired because of the war. But she hadn't planned on a baby. Still, she'd worked the numbers, and she could do it, support the three of them if necessary. And worst case, she could take side jobs or use her Metamorphmagus abilities to get income. She was happy to help. What would've made her feel like shite was knowing he was out there somewhere with no support.
Besides, he could quite easily pay her back by helping her with the baby. That was more than enough payoff for Tonks, knowing her son would have a chance to know his father.
"I need to owl my mum when we get back," she said quietly. "We can talk about it when we get to the flat." The very last thing she wanted to do was cause a scene.
