Katie thought the bad mood between their houses had been rightly earned, especially by him. He'd fouled her more times than she could count when they'd played against one another then and she was sure that wouldn't have changed if they found themselves matched up as professionals. Somehow, she doubted that Flint had matured in the slightest.
That thought was confirmed when he opened his mouth to speak. "Hurts my feelings?" she laughed. "No, it just annoyed me. Don't presume you have any affect whatsoever of my feelings, Flint."
Was he joking? His existence irritated her. Running into him right now irritated her. Nothing in him was capable of hurting her, though.
She rolled her eyes at the reserve comment. She didn't mind being on the reserves. Ange had a year on her, so she hadn't been surprised when her friend was first string with her on the bench most of the time and it was better than not being on a team.
