As she felt the spaniels freezing cold nose nudge through her hair to lick her undefended ears, Penny let out a giggle and exhaled loudly before flopping on to her side and staring at Orsino and the surrounding park.
"No," she said finally after chewing the thought around in her head for several seconds. "What are the odds of the day we plan to go for a run it actually being nice weather in London? "
Her side began aching - a dull insistant pain under her ribs that reminded her just how dreadfully unfit she actually was. "I should give up ice cream," she admitted ruefully "Or go running with people who have much shorter legs."
It didn't count that Seven's legs were that much shorter than her own - dogs had a nataraul inexhaustable supply of energy. Highly unfair.
