Who: Roger Davies & Angelina Johnson
When: 22nd March, 1998 (Backdated - After this!)
Where: Alicia's/Angelina's/Katie's Flat
What: After spending part of the night in jail, Angelina and Roger wake up the next afternoon in her bed.
Rating: PG

It was well into the afternoon when Roger started to wake up. Someone had the foresight to draw the curtains around the windows close last night, so the room was blissfully dark. His mouth felt gross and there was a persistent throbbing in his temple, but at least the damn sun hadn't woken him up until he had some time to recover.

He had slept through the worse of the hangover, so he felt comfortable enough to roll back over and try to cover himself with the comforter...only to feel another warm body. Pausing, he cracked open his eyes again and encountered Angelina's face.

Which was a nice sight indeed, but what was less nice was he had no idea why he was in the same bed as Angelina. Or why, after taking a quick peak under the covers, they were still wearing clothes. But she was breathing and he wasn't in that much pain, so he shrugged off the questions until she woke up. Until then, he grinned, he would just make himself comfortable.

Roger wiggled until he had an arm around her waist and had pulled her close. Content with the new position, he closed his eyes again.

Angelina felt like crap. It wasn't just the hangover, although that did give her a large headache and the need for immense amounts of water. Her right cheek hurt from the punch she'd gotten, her hands were sore from the night before, and her bum hurt from the jail bench.

It didn't help that she was still in her jeans and t-shirt from the night before which she was starting to feel a little suffocated in. She, however, didn't want to get up. Instead she tried to bury her head farther in her pillow.

Until someone started wiggling around beside her. She almost instantly got up screaming because someone was in her bed, but she almost instantly remembered that it was Roger Davies drunk arse. "Stop wiggling around, wanker." She said with a little bit of just woke up venom in her voice and squeezing her eyes shut in case there was light in the room. Light was evil. She also hit him with a small pillow she had handy. Otherwise she didn't make any move to get away from him either.

"Hey!" Roger protested, when she hit him with the pillow. His eyelids slid open again as he tugged the pillow away from her and tossed it to the end of the bed. "I liked you better when you were asleep and quiet." He hadn't noticed the bruise that was forming quite beautifully on her cheek until then, as he leaned over to examine it.

Running a thumb just barely overly it, he hissed in sympathy and said, "Merlin. What happened to you? Last thing I remember was getting arrested." Had she gone drinking with him and the team? No, he didn't recall that.

Brushing her hair out of her face, he said, "I'm sure the other person looks worse."

"Mmhmmm." She said still refusing to open her eyes, hanging on to those last few far away dreams of falling back to sleep. "Everyone loves it when I speak. So you're speaking lie. In my room no less."

She did open her eyes some, rubbing some sleep from the one opposite the cheek he was examining when he touched her face. "Got in a fight, started a brawl actually. Do you not know that I started the chain of arrests last night? Why'd you think you were down there?" She asked with a bit of a laugh, before attempting to shut her eyes again. It was really no use. She was awake.

Angelina gave out a bit of a yawn and a stretch. "The other person does look worse. I'm glad you know to think that."

"You sound like an eighty year old smoker. Some might find that sexy. I don't," he teased, because he was grinning despite his words. Angelina did have an appealing voice, but he wasn't about to feed her ego.

Snorting, he said, "You Gryffindors. Always picking fights. No, I actually didn't know what was going on last night. I was out drinking with the team, we won by the way, when I got the message that I needed to come down to the station. No one said why, really." Or they might have. But hell if he knew why.

"What's going on though? I mean, you generally don't start brawls off the pitch, generally." This time, he sounded less teasing and more serious. He knew she was having a tough time, but starting brawls?

Was she headed down a self-destructive path? He hoped not.

"Don't lie, Davies. Everyone knows you got that itch for grandmas." She said with the closet thing he was getting to a smile in her current hungover, recovery mood.

It would show just how bad off Angelina was that she didn't even know whether or not the Harpies had won. Thankfully, Katie had run some interference with Gwenog and explained what happened. Angelina figured she had to show up to training again by at least next week. Meh, let some reserves play. It'd do them some good anyway. "I think Fred and George are working you entirely too hard if you just go running when they same come. Thanks for coming though."

His tone took her off guard a little bit. She wasn't expecting him to be serious with her at all. She rolled over on her back and looked up at the ceiling. "I was... I was watching the football match on the telly at this sports pub I like, and I was drinking, and there was some trashtalk, and the girl really, really made me angry. Next thing I knew I'd punched her."

So yes, technically she did start it.

"I think they've drugged me, to be honest. I'm finding myself doing things I normally wouldn't have done before getting to know those two," Roger joked, not touching the grandma comment because he did find certain older women attractive. Not necessarily grandmothers, but he wasn't discounting all of them. "Fat lot of help that did though, me coming around to the station. Who got us out?" Had he even been conscious at the time?

Pausing a little to try and process what she had revealed to him, he asked somewhat cautiously, "So if I were to start in on the Harpie' loss, you'll punch me too? Or do we need to get you drunk again?" He wasn't about to start preaching at her over one incident though. "I hope not. This face is too precious to me." Roger jutted his chin out for emphasis, before shifting so he could place his head on her belly.

It was much more comfortable than any pillow.

She did let out a bit of a soft chuckle at that. "Those two are kind of addictive that way. You know maybe it's just their Gryffindorness rubbing off on you. Quick. Head to the library get your dork cred back!" It was a bit of a challenge. She really didn't care a ton about house stereotypes. "Mr. Weasley." She said with a laugh. "We had to get a parent involved." She said with a roll of her eyes."

She slapped a hand on her face. "We lost? Son of a..." She trailed off with a huff of breath. "No promises if you start in about it. Informing me is not punch worthy though." She said looking down at him.

"Hey, I don't think that, other than my First Year, I could have ever been confused for a dork," he said, acting highly offended. In truth, he was a great big dork because he found debating sexy and an intellectually challenging conversation even sexier, but he wasn't about to tell her that.

She had more than enough ammo when it came to him.

"It was only by ten points, if that helps you any." Though a loss was a loss, it had been a very close game. Absentmindedly, he stated to draw shapes on her side as he laid there look up at her face.

This was sort of a surreal thing to Angelina. Mostly because she felt comfortable, but she was also feeling a bit guilty about feeling comfortable and getting her mind off of things. It was like to be a good daughter she had to be in this constant state of thought about it, no matter what anyone else told her.

"Oh, come now! I'm surprised you escaped the spellotaped glasses." She said letting a hand fall near his head and play with his short hair. "You're just lucky you grew up nice is all." Oh yes, he was.

"Loss is a loss is a loss, and just ten points? It's like right there." She pointed out. It's like a kick to the gut.

"But at least you know they played a good hard game and didn't get shut out," Roger countered, moving his hand up her side before resting it high on her stomach. He curled his fingers there, closing his eyes as he just rested.

"'Sides, the only reason they lost was because you weren't there." His smile was wide as he opened his eyes into tiny slits. "Best way to think of it, I think."

"Isn't that the Roger Davies was of thinking of it?" She asked a bit cheekily. He tended to go on about how awesome he was all the time.

Although she sometimes thought it as well, but Gwenog could be terrifying about the stomping out of egos. Win or lose, it was done as a team. "I'll have to get a recording of the commentary. Find out what happened."

"Mmm..." he murmured, closing his eyes again. "You do that. But if you don't mind, I'm going back to sleep." She was warm and it was dark enough in the room that his eyes didn't hurt. He could stay like this for a few more hours at least.
