What: Troy offered Teagan a backrub and he's going to keep his word, even if it makes him uncomfortable.
Rating: PG-13
Ten hour workdays were not uncommon in Troy's life. They were the norm rather than the exception because of the recent turnover at Gringotts. So by the time he got home that night, it was late and he had almost forgotten about the promise he had made Teagan earlier that day.
That is, until he looked over and saw his part of dinner on the dinner table. Which was nice, because he really was sick of eating takeout all the time, until he was reminded that he offered Teagan a backrub. And then his nervousness set in.
Look, he was almost certain he was gay. Despite all the protesting he did with Maggie whenever she brought up David, he hadn't been going to Kinko's just to fulfill his paper needs. David had been charming and easy on the eyes and Troy had liked that. He claimed to have never acted on it, but he had appreciated everything that David had to offer once before he had left Dublin. One incident might have not made him gay except he had never shown any interest in women. Otherwise, he was a monk when it came to his romantic life.
Except now he was sure there was an undercurrent of flirtation going on between him and Teagan. He had tried not to think of it as he sat there in his work clothes eating the meal she had prepared, but he was almost certain of it.
So that there was the reason for his confusion.
In all the time he had known Teagan, which was quite a few years, he had never felt any inkling of desire toward her. Objectively, he knew Maggie and Teagan were beautiful girls that had plenty of male admirers. But there had been no desire on his part.
So what was going on now?
He wondered if she was asleep by now, as he stood to wash the dishes the Muggle way. Maybe he wouldn't have to explore these thoughts any further if she was. Except he knew that she would bring it up until she got her backrub because Teagan was persistent like that.
What to do, was the question, and he found himself wishing he had stayed overtime at the bank to work on that Weasley file instead. Troy knew he was overthinking this, but what if he wasn't?
