Verity considered him for a moment, tugging at her lower lip. "It's bigger than your old place," she allowed, then shrugged. "But that's not saying much." She paused again, brow furrowed slightly. "I didn't even see you moving in," she started, although she wouldn't have been able to see his house from her store anyway. "The old owner must've really wanted to get out, to leave all his wine there for you."
She paused at his question, and it was a long moment before she was able to decipher the meaning behind it. "Oh," she started, then shook her head, scrubbing a hand through her hair. "I just..." she trailed off, then shook her head again. Even though it had worked out, she was still embarrassed by how she'd thrown herself at Fred, but then again, it was likely Trev wouldn't even remember this in the morning. "I got a little drunk and sort of threw myself at my boss."
