    paid Wiccan clergy
    My comment on YouTube:

"If people want their clergy to be available full-time for ritual, counseling, support at 3:00 am when you're falling apart -- financial support is not only logical, it should be a given."

    Welcome to all new members!
Happy you decided to join us! Please feel free to pop in a topic whenever the mood hits, so we can get this party started. We're relatively new to IJ, so still feeling out the community at large.

Controversial topics are welcome, as long as the guidelines are followed. In fact, it would be good that this group not be another 101-style as is so often the case. Intellect is highly encouraged!

Please take a look at our updated community profile. I have mirrored the guidelines from the LJ community of the same name. If you have questions, comments or suggestions, please feel free to post them here.

    Wicca in 2008
So, it's a few years into the 21st century. How do you feel Wicca has progressed (internally and in the community at large) in, say, the last 20 years?

Where do you think Wicca is heading? Will the schism of traditional and eclectic come to a head, or will common ground be found?

How has the faith evolved, and where does it still need work?

    Winter Solstice, Lycian Wicca style
On our Wheel, the Goddess has returned from the Underworld impregnated. She gives birth to the God at the beginning of Capricorn. He is son of the Lord of the Dead; the Old God.

The Goddess is in Her active aspect now as Divine Mother.

    Winter Solstice & Summer Solstice
December. 22, 2007, marks the solstice—the beginning of winter in the Northern Hemisphere and summer in the Southern Hemisphere. The precise moment of the 2007 solstice will be December 22, 2007 at 01:08. EST (Dec. 22, 06:08 UT).

How do you celebrate this holy day?

    Wicca on YouTube
I've never really explored the actual site, so tonight I took a grand YouTube journey with the keyword "Wicca."

Oh, dear Gods. I've never seen so much 101 rehash in my entire life. It made my brain all hurty. With all those "High Priest/esses" out there, aren't there a few who can give something beyond a Scott Cunningham-style presentation?

Just a brief observation before bedtime. Comments welcome.
