Have you ever met an energy vampire?

I know I have, though I did not know the name for it at the time.

It was third grade. There was one girl.. everyone loved her, though I just didn't get it. It wasn't jealousy, though.. I liked her for a while. But then I became aware of a weird drain around her, like my emotions and energy were draining away. Watching others, I felt this was happening to them, but they didn't notice it. So I hung around her less and less... I started to have more energy.

But the first thing I thought when I noticed the odd drain was 'vampire. Emotional vampire.'

I was damn close.
