When the backlash came, it was massive and far reaching. The Xavier Schools, both in New York and in Westchester, have both been razed to the ground. Teachers and students who chose to stand their ground were killed or captured only to be killed later as the government incarcerated them as criminals of the state and 'cured' them.

The new 'cure' while it did indeed make the x-gene unusable killed each and every one of its subjects within days. All unknown to the public. Not that the public cares at all what the government is doing. They just want the mutant threat destroyed. In response, the United States closed its borders and keeps to itself in an effort to make certain that no one escaped.

The Brotherhood made the mistake of attempting to stand their ground against the encroachment of the government against their freedoms. As a result, nearly all of them were killed. Magneto remains unaccounted for, but he hasn't reared his head for a while, so it's assumed that he is quite likely dead.

As it stands, being a mutant means your life is in danger. It isn't uncommon for people to disappear. Most of them go to prison then poof no further mention is made of them. This is the world as it stands today.

____

Of course there are those who are still squeaking by. Hiding in the gutter. Skulking in the shadows. Accused of being criminal for nothing more than existing. In light of that, a mysterious benefactor has been gathering the accused, helping them to avoid prison for his own ends. What those ends are, no one is completely sure...however, anything has to be better than prison, right?

Things to Know
1. There is a tag for the game that should be put on all threads to keep track of them. [the crew]
2. Applications aren't really required.
3. OOC stuff should be handled through your personal journal or AIM...since I'm not creating a separate comm for this little game.
