Jack was sitting on the edge of a pier, legs dangling above the water. He had a cup of coffee, was squinting a bit against the setting sun and was utterly content with his lot in 'life'. When he heard a foot step somewhere near him he said, warmly, "Come pull up a board."

He diverted from the uncomfortable topic to, well, one more uncomfortable, but one worrying him. "I don't really know what I might do that's....scary. There's something really wrong with. The Doctors. Especially the one's the short hair in black. Talking about poisoning tea and sounding happy about the prospect I could kill them. That's not right." He glanced sidelong at Jack, not quite willing to look at him for his response.

"No. When I first got here, the Doctor, but he didn't introduce himself as that. He made me tea, and seemed surprised that I actually drank it, and said he'd thought maybe I'd think it was poisoned. I thought it was a bad joke. But then everyone was edging around me, and I scared some younger version of you, and a *different* Doctor told me he destroyed Gallifrey, almost off hand, he said he thought I knew already."

He stopped to take a breath, since his chest felt tight anyway. There'd more in a second.

Jack was apparently the only person he felt remotely safe with. Except his Thete, who hadn't been around, and he wasn't sure how to talk to him about all this anyway.
