Lucian had quickly given up on finding Jason's Jean-Claude, figuring that whenever this place wanted them to meet, they would. Clearly before had been the right time.

Now, however, seemed to be the good time, since the scent suddenly hit his nostrils. Vampire, mixed with Jason's lingering smell underneath the primary, cold one. This had to be the right trail, and he followed it to a house on which door he knocked.

Jean-Claude had recently risen. Not recently enough that he hadn't fed, but recently enough that he was not dressed to the standards he would prefer when he heard the knock.

The fact that he heard the footsteps and smelt the scent of stranger before the knock sounded was one that he would, for now, keep to himself.

Wolf.

At least he could be certain that the stranger was no threat.

He answered the door in his own time, not hurrying, door opened a bare foot to eye the visitor. "Oui?"

	That phrasing really ticked Lucian off. He let two seconds pass, and as nothing happened, assumed Jean-Claude had no interest in talking to him. "That is not an answer, either." And if Lucian was going to stand there and speak in riddles...well, Jean-Claude had played politics with better players than the one standing in front of him.

He was also far too accustoment to such games to feel the slightest bit disadvantaged by sitting when another was standing. He owed no fealty to Lucian. Sitting was no mark of disrespect to one to whom he owed respect.

Lucian was not used to politics. Lucian had been a slave, and then he'd led his race. He'd never been challenged by any Lycan that posed a real threat, and eventually he'd simply not been challenged at all anymore. Political games were petty, and if his answer was a riddle for Jean-Claude, then it was only because he overestimated the vampire's intellect.

"I would like for you to try it," he spelled out, since he needed to.

He was only standing because he didn't feel like sitting.

	That much was understood, but the compulsion was not one Jean-Claude would use without consent. Not without good reason.
