Two hours to dawn and the bar closed, the last patrons invited to get out. The staff was cleaning up, and Eric quietly walked up to Godric, remained silent for a few moments.

"Should I show you the basement now?"

	Eric closed the heavy door and headed down the stairs after Godric. It was dark, but it would bother neither one of them. At the bottom of the stairs were a few doors, but Eric ignored them to kneel at Godric's feet again. "I am sorry," he said, still in Swedish, head bent. "I should not question you." 	Eric tilted his head into the touch without even thinking about it, and the only reason why his eyes didn't close was that he couldn't bear to look away from Godric. Eric nodded, and rose without a word, walked around Godric to open one of the doors. "My room. Yours, for tonight."

If Godric had not changed his mind. Eric was conflicted; part of him knew that something was off about Godric, knew it without knowing how he did, but he also felt as if he might have failed his maker. That made him want to make it up to Godric, but again he did not know how, since he was uncertain what his failing had been.
