"Well, I'm sure my mom will make sure you eat plenty," Evan said with a grin. He leaned over and captured Kyri's lips for soft kiss. When they pulled apart, and she asked her question, he furrowed his brow. He was about to answer it but was cut off my his mother asking her question. Evan knew she wouldn't stop asking until they answered. Luckily, Kyri did the honors and Evan grinned.
"Oh, Evan!" Marie said as she hurried over to them. She gave them both a hug before grinning. "No pressure but it better be a girl! I need a granddaughter to spoil, you know!"
Evan laughed and returned his mom's hug. "No pressure at all, mom," he said as he pulled back.
Once they were finished hugging, Marie ushered them into the kitchen, where they all sat down at the table. Evan reached for a bowl of mashed potatoes and started to spoon them on his plate. However, when his mother swatted him, he stopped.
"You serve your wife first, Evan Lorne!' Marie scolded.
"Yes, ma'am," Evan sheepishly said before he started to put some food on Kyri's plate.
