Evan found himself chuckling when Kyri discovered the power window. He glanced at her, and smiled as she let the wind blow through her hair. She was so beautiful. "It is," he said with a nod when she commented on the scenery. "It'll start changing when we get closer to the city. Less open space."
Soon, they were approaching the city and the scenery became littered with buildings, fast food places, and gas stations. He found himself having to slow down when he hit a long line of traffic going into the city. Evan reached down and slowly rolled Kyri's window up. "I don't think you want to smell the exhaust coming from the other cars and trucks," he told her.
When they finally got through the traffic, Evan got off the interstate and started down a residental street in the city. They went up a small hill and Evan pulled into the driveway of the house on top of it. He put the car into park, and turned it off. He then turned to say something to Kyri but stopped when he heard his mother.
"Evan!"
Chuckling, Evan undid Kyri's seatbelt and got out of the car. He jogged around to the other side to help Kyri. Taking her hand, he took her to where his mom was standing. "Mom, this is Kyri. And, Kyri, this is my mom," he said.
"Oh, she's pretty, Evan!" his mom said before she pulled Kyri into a hug.
