"Do you think this is enough?" Rodney asked.
Caitlin looked up from the book she was reading, her eyes widening at all the stuff Rodney had piled in his duffle bag. It contained diapers, bottles, toys, and other baby things. The poor man had become a bundle of non-stop energy ever since Jeannie gave birth to her and Tim's son Todd. Rodney, who thought he was an expert on babies because of Erin and Charlie, had decided to spend an afternoon with the new family, and give them pointers.
"I think you have plenty," she said with an amused look.
Rodney pressed his lips together, and nodded before zipping the duffle bag up. He then started toward the door, and Caitlin watched him, snorting when he jumped a little and turned back around. Coming over to the couch, he leaned down and softly kissed her. "Love you," he said against her lips. "Have fun on the mainland today."
"Love you too, Woobie," Caitlin said, giggling at the look Rodney gave her before he walked out.
Shaking her head, Caitlin glanced at the time. When she saw it was almost time for her to meet Carson and Kade down in the infimary, she closed her book, and stood from the couch. After grabbing her backpack, she left her quarters and took the transporter to the science and medical level of the city's main tower. Kade, Carson and her were going out to the mainland to give some of the Sangui checkups.
When she got to medical, she walked into Carson's office to see Kade sitting there, playing a video game on a tablet. "He'll be here soon," he said as he looked up at her.
Grinning, Caitlin sat down at Carson's desk, and pulled the top drawer open. Inside was a candy bar so she pulled it out. Looking at Kade, she shrugged. "My son likes chocolate," she said as she unwrapped it, and popped a piece into her mouth.
"Carson's coming," Kade said.
Caitlin quickly wrapped the rest of the candy bar up, and threw it back into the drawer, and stopped chewing on the piece in her mouth. When Carson walked in, she gave him a small smile, and waved at him.
