When Cait said the young woman was pregnant, Carson looked over at Kade when he asked about the child's father. He raised his eyebrows in curiosity when he mentioned a potion, wondering what that was. He could tell Cait was interested too, so he decided to wait until after they were finished. Instead, he gave the young woman some vitamins and information on staying healthy during the pregnancy before she left.
After her, there were a few more patients, and then they were done for the day. As he started putting things away, he heard Cait's question and walked over, wanting to hear the answer.
"Why is the potion necessary?" he asked.
"It allows the mother to carry the child to term by providing what is necessary for the Sangui child to live within her," Kade told him.
Carson nodded. "Like when human mothers sometimes have to take specific medications because the father is a conflicting blood type. Makes sense. I'd like to see the herbs you use. Perhaps they might be helpful to humans as well."
Kade chuckled. "I had a feeling you'd wonder if they would."
They finished packing up, and Kade led them to his hut. Once they were inside, he pulled out the herbs and set them on the table.
"Sangui blood also has restorative properties that help bolster health in the mother," he told them.
