Latro could see that Evan was about ready to jump at the smallest possibility of where Kyri could have been taken. And truth be told, he understood the feeling. He wanted to transform and go running somewhere...anywhere to find his niece. She was the last surviving piece of his brother, but beyond that, she was like his daughter.
So when Ronon found the trail, he had hope that they might be able to follow it. Soon, though, it was obvious they they couldn't, and Latro found his fear growing.
Especially after his son and his spouses arrived. When Noll explained about his brother, Latro felt as through his heart was being squeezed tightly. It was the same feeling he'd had when his brother had died. When his wife had died.
"So they're working with the Genii because you helped us against them so long ago," Latro said.
Noll nodded. "Undoubtedly."
Latro looked at Evan, lost for a moment as to what to do. The one who would have the best chance of tracking Kyri would be her mate as her smell would be all over him. But Evan wasn't a Lykaios. He didn't have the senses. He didn't...
Suddenly, he realized what could be done.
"Wait here," he said, before running through the woods back to the village. He went directly to his hut where he pulled out the vial with the potion used in the Ceremony of Socius. With it held tight in his hand, he ran back to the others and held it out to Evan.
"Drink some of this. You and Kyri have been intimate. With this, you should be able to track her," he told him.
