Daniel stood in the main office of the history building, and looked through his mail. There really wasn't anything interesting - just offers from book companies, wanting him to buy his textbooks from them. But he was used to not getting anything good. No one ever asked him to speak at conferences anymore. Not since he'd made the mistake of saying the pyramids had once been spaceships.
It had to be the stupidest thing he'd ever done. His grandfather had told him as much, as did most of his peers. The only people who still supported him were his parents. At least two people in the world still supported him.
With a weary sigh, Daniel tucked the letters inside one of his books, and left the office. He wanted to go home for the day, but he needed to stay a bit longer in case any of his students had any questions about the upcoming mid-term. He wanted all of them to do well so he didn't look like a failure.
He had just rounded the corner, and was pulling his office keys out of his pocket, when he saw a blonde woman standing by his office door. Daniel slowly blinked. She didn't look like a student, and random women never popped up to see him. She probably lost.
"May I help you?" he asked as he got closer to her. "Are you lost?"
