"I know you would've helped if I had told, Colonel Jackson," Max said before giving her a small smile. "And, could you call me Max? Maxine is my grandmother."
When Colonel Jackson said she would take care of everything, Max felt a weight being lifted from her shoulders. Ronon had been right - Colonel Jackson was really understanding, and not as bad as Woosley made her sound. Of course, Max would never tell her what Woosley had said.
"Thank you, Colonel Jackson. That means a lot to me," Max said with a grin.
However, when she invited her to come on a picnic with the senior staff, Max didn't know what to say. The only senior staffer she really spoke to was Ronon, and she wasn't sure if the others would accept her or not. Max chewed her bottom lip in thought, and decided to just say yes.
"I would love to go on a picnic," she said. "I haven't been to the mainland yet, but I've heard some people talking about how beautiful it is out there. Plus, it'll be nice to get away from the city for a while."
