When he admitted to her that he hadn't been sleeping well since Jennifer's death, he realized that he had probably just opened the door for Max to start treating him differently as well. But he hadn't talked to anyone else about it - it wasn't his way. And truth be told, it actually felt a bit good doing so. Jennifer had been right. Sometimes it was best to open up.
"Thanks," he said when she offered to be there if he needed someone to talk to. "I'll do that. Although I might have to teach you a thing or two about using guns."
Looking around the room, he shook his head and stood up before reaching out his hand to her. "Come on. You're not staying here all night," he told her. "You can stay in the extra bedroom in my family's quarters until we get you another control crystal tomorrow."
