The afternoon at the cove was great, and it allowed John to forget about what had happened for a bit. He didn't like it when people threatened his wife, especially given that she was pregnant with their child, and he knew that if hadn't had his hands tied behind his back, he might have taken out Torg and a couple of the others. Or at least tried to.
So it was probably best that he forgot about that for now and instead focused on the fact that everything was all right and nothing had happened to them.
When they got back to the city, John got Chase ready for bed and read him a story. When he tucked him in for the night, his son looked up at him with wide eyes.
"No more bad men," he said firmly.
"No more bad men," he assured him before kissing his forehead. "Night, buddy."
After leaving the bedroom, he went into the kitchen to get a glass of water. He had just finished it when Fred appeared, wrapping her arms around him. Smiling, he pulled her to him as they kissed.
"Hi, yourself," he murmured against her lips before scooping her up into his arms.
He carried her into their bedroom where he lay her down on the bed. Leaning over her, he kissed her again as his hand started caressing over her body. I love you.
