Fred bit her bottom lip to keep from laughing at John's silent comment about The Godfather. He was right, and it did look like they'd stepped right in the movie. She had seen a lot of things in the Pegagus Galaxy but she never expected to see anything like this, however.
"We aren't mean. We do a lot of things for people," Fred added.
When John asked his question, Fred nodded, and then looked at the man again. "If we speak to your daughter, will you let us go?" she asked.
"Of course. I'll even give you, and your people, free vouchers for our rooms here and free meals," the man said as he stood from his desk. "This way."
Fred glanced at John, and shrugged a little before they followed the man out of the room. He took them to an elevator, and once all of them were in, he pushed the button for the bottom floor. Reaching down, Fred took her husband's hand and squeezed it.
One the elevator stopped, the doors slid open and Fred blinked her eyes at what she saw. In front of them was a casino. Most of the games were different from the ones they had on Earth, but it was still a casino. Glancing to the side, Fred looked at John and raised her eyebrows.
"This is my gaming business," the man said as they stepped off the elevator. "Do you have these where you come from?"
"We call ours casinos," Fred said as they walked through the room. She craned her neck to get a better look at everything.
"My daughter is right through here," the man said as he motioned toward a door. "She has locked herself in there in preparation for her wedding." Reaching up, he knocked on the door. "Maya! The Guardians are here to see you."
