Fred looked over at John and nodded her head. These guys were idiots. Looking over at the one they called Torg, she narrowed her eyes. "Yeah, you shouldn't touch the Guardians. We can easily take you out, you know," she said.
Torg's eyes widened a little. "What can you do?" he asked, fear obvious in his voice.
"All kinds of things. We have...powers you've never seen before," Fred said before she glanced at John. She shrugged a little, hoping it would be enough to scare them into letting her and John go.
"They're lying," one of the men said.
Sighing, Fred stopped walking and looked at them. When one of them nudged her, she didn't move. "I'm pregnant and tired. I'm not walking anymore," she said before she looked around. There was a tree stump so she sat down on it.
"Then you'll be carried," the leader of the group said before he scooped Fred up.
"Put me down!" she said as she kicked her legs. "I'm so going to kick your ass when you untie me!"
The men didn't say anything. Instead, they continued down the trail until they came upon a large building that looked like some sort of hotel. They took John and Fred through a side door and up a small flight of stairs. At the top of the stairs was a large room and the men made John and Fred sit down on the couch.
"Our boss will see you soon. Make yourselves at home," the leader said. "Torg and Gast, you stay here and watch them. I'll tell the boss they're here."
