Grinning, Sam ran her fingers through Daniel's hair as he spoke to their daughter. Their little girl was active, but she always seemed more so when he was talking to her or nearby, and given what they had seen of the older CJ who had come back through the Gate, it was obvious that she was definitely going to be a daddy's girl.
She moved her hand down to rub the back of his neck as he talked about the translations, her brow furrowing. More people were going to ascend? How many were involved in all of this anyway? The more they dug, the more there seemed to be to all this.
"Sometimes, I feel like we're part of some cosmic television show or something, but I'm sure you'll figure it," she told him as he shifted closer. Snuggling against him, she let out a soft sigh when he mentioned Maxine Pace.
"I guess she could only print off so many copies since people kept tearing them down," she said, reaching over and taking his hand, lacing her fingers with his. "I just wish I knew what to do about her. I read through her file, and she's exactly the kind of person I would have wanted here under normal circumstance. But she's been so brainwashed by Woosley."
She shook her head, recalling just how badly the staff meeting had gone with Maxine making her demands and the rest of the senior staff looking at her like she was crazy. The woman had no idea had Atlantis worked, so for her to come in and think she knew better than them how things should run wasn't something any of them took well.
"I keep thinking I should go and try to talk to her again, but I have no idea where to start," Sam said. "And with CJ's birth so close... I guess maybe after she's born. Doctor Pace has her own project to work on until then."
