"Mistake one - listening to Woosley," Ronon said, shaking his head. He could just imagine what he had told her, considering the way he had acted when he had been there before. He'd seen the looks he'd given his kids. "And mistake two - pissing off Colonel Jackson. She doesn't take well to threats on the city or the people here. And even if you didn't mean it, it probably came across that way."
However, when she started talking about people taking her control panel's crystal, Ronon shook his head. Seemed to him like Max was caught between a rock and a hard place, as John liked to say.
"Do what you feel is right," he told. "It's only thing you can do. Also, come with me."
He motioned for her to follow him down the corridor to the main lab where Rodney was working on one of the computers while John sat up on one of the counters, obviously waiting on Fred. When Ronon reached the door, he put up a hand to have Max stop and wait before walking in. John looked over, a smile crossing his face as he jumped off the counter.
"Ronon, you're back. Everything okay?"
He shrugged. "As much as it can be. Decided it was time to come home."
John nodded. "Finn will be glad to see you. He's at the daycare."
Ronon smiled, looking forward to seeing his son and daughters. "Thanks for watching him."
"No problem."
Ronon looked over at Rodney. "You have an extra control crystal I can have?"
"Yours not working?" Rodney asked as got up and went over to the cabinet where they kept extra crystals. He pulled one out for him.
"Something like that." He took the crystal and headed for the door. "Thanks."
Outside the lab, he handed the crystal to Max. "At least you can sleep in your own bed while you figure out what you're going to do."
