"Yeah. The IOA have their own vision of what goes on here and it's not even close," Max said. She pressed her lips together when he mentioned Teyla. She had heard about her and was suddenly glad she wasn't there either. The last thing she wanted was to piss off the woman, who had taught a lot of the city how to fight.
When Ronon asked why people were stringing her things up, Max softly sighed and sat down on the bench. "Before I came here, Woosley told me how things were being ran here. He made it sound like y'all were having orgies in the Gate room, while all your kids were running around, breaking things," she started to explain while she looked down at her tablet. "He gave me a list with all the things I was supposed to do in order to make the city better. It listed how all of you needed to stop getting married and having children, among other things. Colonel Jackson wasn't impressed and tore the list up. I kept posting the list around the city and people kept tearing it down."
Max felt her throat tightening, and thickly swallowed. She wasn't going to start crying in front of a complete stranger, even if he was being nice. "That's when people started taking my things, along with the crystals out of the control panel of my quarters. I can't remember the last time I actually slept in my bed," she said. She slowly looked up at him and pressed her lips together.
"About a week ago I started to see what the IOA fails to. This is more than an expedition and it's a home to all of you. I tried to tell Woosley that but he got upset, threatened me and told me I needed to do my job," she said with a small shrug before she looked down at her tablet again. "I'm not sure what to do now. I don't want to get anyone in trouble here, and I have to tell the truth but the IOA doesn't want to hear it."
