John smiled against Fred's lips as they kissed, enjoying the closeness that came from being inside both her mind and body. Wrapping his arms around her, he held her tight, a slight shiver running up his spine from the gentle touch of her fingers.
He never felt like things were more right than when he was with her like this.
But then the peace and pleasure was broken when suddenly John picked up the images flashing through his wife's mind. Opening his eyes, he looked down at her, his brow furrowed in confusion. That had seemed to wraith-like, and that had been Earth's address. But the wraith were gone. They had taken out all of the hive ships.
"I don't know," he said, shaking his head. "It seemed almost like it had something to do with the Wraith, but they're gone. Aren't they?"
