Once the ground beef was finished, Fred drained the fat and stirred the meat into the sauce. Soon the noodles were boiling, while the cheese bread baked in the oven. She was just finishing off her glass of strawberry milk when the quarters' doors slid open and Chase was hopping out of his chair to greet his dad. Alex followed suit once she was finished coloring something in.
Smiling, Fred laid her hand on John's and returned his kiss. "My day was good. Got some evaluations done," she said before giving him another kiss. "And I'm feeling fine. Got a little sick this afternoon but I think the "morning" sickness is going to pass soon."
"Look, Daddy! I drew you the beach," Alex said as she held up her picture. It contained the ocean, beach and a rather big sun.
"I drew football!" Chase proudly said as he held up his own picture.
As the kids showed off their pictures, Fred turned around and drained the pasta before putting it in a bowl. She then did the same with the sauce before taking the cheesebread out. "Why don't the three of you go get washed up for dinner," she said before shooing them out.
Once the table was set, she poured them all a glass of milk. Fred then got Chase's bib out, knowing he was going to get most of his spaghetti on his face, in his hair, and on his clothes. Even though their little boy loved the food, he had yet to master eating it.
