Carson smiled at Kade as he shook his head before raising his eyebrow at Rodney as he took a very defensive stance against the other man. He looked over at Cait, knowing that Rodney would likely be like this until Kade proved himself. It was just how Rodney was, and Carson hoped that Kade understood that. Of course, given that he had worked with children, he probably understood it all too well.
"It's nice to meet you, Aden," Carson told Kade's son, agreeing with Cait that he was quite adorable. Very polite too. He had obviously been raised well.
And at Kade's explanation of his history, he understood why. The man obviously cared very much Aden and put him first in his life.
I think I am too, Carson told Cait with a grin.
Hey! Rodney said, looking over at them.
Shaking his head, he turned his attention back to Kade, who was looking at them rather intently. "I can see that working with you three is going to be very interesting," he said with a smile.
Rodney frowned about him. "What's that's supposed to mean?"
