Once they were back inside the hotel, Carson put on some water to boil while Cait went back out to the soda machine with Erin. By the time they came back, the water was almost ready, so he pulled down three mugs and set them on the counter.
"That looks wonderful, sweetheart," Carson told her with a smile when she held it up.
Their little girls really were so smart for their ages, he thought as he emptied the hot chocolate packets into the mugs. It made him wonder how fast they were going to grow up.
He was just starting to pour the boiling water into the cups when Rodney and Cait started kissing as a way to "warm" her up. Setting the kettle aside, he shuddered and looked at them.
I can here you two, you know.
That's the point, Rodney told him.
Walking over, Carson leaned over them and nuzzled both of them before kissing them. Not nice to tease, he told them before taking a breath and go back to finish making the hot chocolate.
When he finished, he put them on a tray and brought them out to sit on the coffee table. He then sat down on the other side of Cait and wrapped his arms around her.
