Daniel stood back and allowed his wife to speak to their daughter, nodding along with everything Sam said. "Your mom's right, Molly," he said as he stepped forward to stand next to Sam. "You could've seriously hurt yourself. I've been in this city for a while and even I have to be careful."
Looking over at Sam, Daniel nodded. I think that's fair, he told her before he looked at Molly again. He knelt down in front of her and took her hands into his.
"Your mom and I have decided you will be grounded for a week. No playing with Lis and Callie during this time. Also, you'll stay with Aislin and Natalia until one of us can pick you up," he said before he glanced up at Sam. He then looked at Molly again. "I have no scheduled off-world missions this week so I think we are going to spend two hours after school with you helping others clean things in the city. This way you can see how much work goes into keeping the city running and that certain areas aren't made for playing."
"Okay, Dad," Molly said with a slight nod.
"Come here," Daniel said before he pulled Molly into a tight hug. "I love you and I'm glad you're all right."
Daniel looked up at Sam. If you still have paperwork to finish, I can take her home.
