It was never that strange to see the redheaded seventeen year old walking around this time of night. She was a vampire, after all. Forever seventeen. And she got lonely at Bill's mansion. Especially since before she'd been so sheltered and restricted. When Bill turned her that terrifying night, it had opened up an entirely new world for Jessica, one she was finding she actually flourished in. She could just imagine living like this while under her parents' roof. The fallout would have been bad enough that maybe her father would have completely snapped and come inches from putting her out of the constant misery they liked to drown her in. School work and chores and prayers to a God that they said was a lot more strict that he really seemed to be. And the belt. Jessica couldn't forget the belt. It had been Daddy's favorite and most often used punishment for when they weren't good enough. For when they weren'r pure enough. Now all Jessica really worried about when it came to her old life was her little sister, Eden. Kicking at the dirt as she walked through the park, Jessica's hands were pretty much locked in her pockets for the time being. It was nice out at night, something she hadn't been able to appreciate before. Even with all the new and slightly confusing scents, Jessica enjoyed the abilities that came from being a vampire. She could smell things she couldn't before, see things she couldn't, hear things that hadn't even been a thought... and she had a real proficiency with the glamouring. She'd taken to that one fast, faster than a lot of other vampires Bill had told her. The speed was amazing as well. Jessica thought, with this speed, she could have been a track star in school. Well, if she'd been allowed to go. And if her daddy hadn't found something wrong and sinful in that sport too. Running a hand through her titian curls, the baby vampire caught sight of the swings and smiled. What the hell? Why shouldn't she have a little fun? So that was the direction she'd gone, settling down into one of the swings and just letting her feet push her off at first. Nothing high, just slight little swings that seemed to gain just a little bit with each sway. |
