Caitlin cracked the egg open, and poured it into the mixing bowl. After throwing the shell away, she picked up the whisk and started to mix the eggs, cheese and ham together. Ever since they came home from Atlantis, she had taken up cooking. Her mom said she was "nesting" but Caitlin was pretty sure it was her way of dealing with losing the city...a city she had helped bring back to its former glory. Years of work were taken away because the Ancients were greedy with serious entitlement issues. And, to make matters worse, they had moved the city and didn't seem to think they needed to tell Stargate Command.
Atlantis held so many memories for her. It was where she had fallen in love with John, and where they had gotten married. It was the place where they found out she was pregnant, and she could still remember sitting on one of the balconies as they decided on a name for their unborn daughter. Even though a small part of her knew Atlantis rightfully belonged to the Ancients, it still didn't make her miss it any less.
Caitlin would be forever grateful toward Global Dynamics for giving her, John, and most of their friends, jobs. A lot of different labs had offered her positions but they wanted her to move away from her husband, despite her being pregnant. She would never leave her husband and was preparing to become a stay at home mom before all of them were offered jobs. And Eureka seemed like a nice town. It reminded her a lot of the area her dad would take them camping when he wasn't saving the universe.
Suddenly, the oven beeped so Caitlin poured the egg mixture in a baking pan and placed it in the oven. She set the timer for thirty minutes before washing her hands. Since John had done most of the unpacking the night before, she had decided to make him a hearty breakfast. After drying her hands, she went to their bedroom and climbed back into bed. She snuggled against him and softly nuzzled neck. "I'm making oven baked omelets," she said before softly kissing him.
Just then, Peyton kicked hard enough for the both of them to feel it. "I think your little girl wants some attention, too," she said with a laugh.
