Earth-2 had been a lot to deal with. Knowing there was a world where his mother was alive, where his father had never been framed for hr murder, where he had been able to talk to her, he wasn't even sure how to deal with that. Adding to that seeing Iris as his wife and Joe as a father-in-law who hated him...it made him wonder. He knew his life wouldn't have been like that, even without Thawne killing his mother. He hadn't been the Flash in that world, he never would have been. But it still made him wonder how much like that his life would have been if the past hadn't been changed. But he hadn't really been able to dwell on that, between Killer Frost and Deathstorm and Reverb, then finding himself captured by Zoom. It had been hard, fighting people who should have been his friends. Seeing Cisco and Ronnie die. Then he'd been in that cell, trapped with Jessie, Zoom beating him just to show he could. And that strange man in the mask looking for Jay. All of it had been a lot. Too much. He was exhausted from it. And he'd nearly given up before the others had come to the rescue. And they'd escaped. But the cost was more than he wanted to pay. He'd watched Jay be killed right before his eyes, nobody could survive getting impaled through the chest like that. And then he'd been here. No explanation, no friends, no anything. Well, eventually there had been an explanation. By a guy who said he was Robin Hood. As if his life wasn't weird enough already. Not that he could judge the guy when he was still in his Flash suit. He'd headed toward the apartment they'd assigned, checking out the network and finding that Snart of all people was in Storybrooke, before collapsing onto the sofa with a pained groan. He was still bruised all over from his fight with Zoom. Maybe it was a quirk of the Speed Force, but injuries from other speedsters always seemed to take longer to heal. He pushed back his cowl, and stripped the suit down to his waist checking his ribs. They were sore, and the skin of his side was a purple that was nearly black. Great. Laying down with a hiss, he closed his eyes. Not that it would do any good. There was no way he was going to sleep tonight without the persistent nightmares he'd had since his first fight with Zoom tormenting him. "Could this day get any worse?" |
