Felix really didn't need to be romantic, not in any traditional sense. Charles knew that he loved him, and he certainly didn't require any sort of displays to prove that. Their relationship worked because it was built on the simple fact that they cared about each other and enjoyed spending time with one another. That had grown, with time, into love, and now Charles couldn't imagine his life without Felix. Thankfully, it didn't seem like he would have to.
"Well," Charles teased gently. "I happen to find your tendency toward overthinking things to be rather charming, so no harm done." He broke off with a laugh, shaking his head at the other man's suggestion. "Felix Blake! Are you suggesting what I think you're suggesting? Because that's brilliant, really, but I was pretty sure you had a rule against that."
They may have got slightly caught up in kissing after that, but they managed to disentangle themselves long enough to shower and shave and get ready for work. They weren't going to be on time, but Charles didn't have a class the first period of the day and Felix didn't have classes, so they'd survive it. They would just have to deal with their coworker's judgment. And they were more than used to that. "You know," Charles said pleasantly, as they headed out of the flat, "Jasper is going to ask how we ended up engaged. And I am absolutely going to tell him, if only to see his face. Try not to regret this too much when he finds out."
