"It's hard to believe - that somewhere like this exists. Where people aren't fighting and hurting people. Hurting - us," Hope replied softly, looking at Emma, then around at the diner once again. "It's nice...even if it's hard to believe." Maybe this would be a vacation for her, something she hadn't known she'd needed.
"You said mostly peaceful, though. So there's something?" After all, Hope wouldn't want to just be doing nothing here...she felt like she had to do something. Her father had raised her to be a soldier and a survivor - he'd never taught her what a soldier would do when there was no war to fight. She needed something to keep her sane and to keep her...steady. Somehow.
