"I think they said I was in the woods. It was all very blurry." Will felt like this place seemed one step away from a horror movie in a lot of ways. Remote quiet location in the wilderness. Strangers who seemed to know way too much about you. Them all being stuck in some kind of strange loop or trap. "I hope they will. I'm not sure if we should be hoping for them to show up here or not? Do you think it's weird to hope your friends are kidnapped by magic?" For Will, it seemed like the best option. No Whispers here so far, and Riley was there. It just seemed weird to wish that on someone, even if he craved meeting them all in person.
Will might not have to prove himself to her theoretically, but he still wanted to impress her. He could get used to her watching him that way though. It was endearing that she was worried. Will couldn't remember the last person who cared about him that much. His partner was the only real friend he had, and his relationship with his father was complicated at best. He didn't get a lot of this in his life. He smiled over at her, and maybe he was just getting good at taking the wins where he got them. This was feeling like a win at the moment.
"I'll take the diner over a club for a date. I mean, I'd go if you were DJing, but my dancing skills are non-existent." Will wasn't the clubbing type, but of course he'd try it out for her. He might spend that time attempting not to wince at the loud music and awkwardly bobbing his head along. But it would be trying. "What am I even saying, does a town like this have a club?" They were in a pretty small type of place. He'd only been in Chicago really.
