It was only Jarvis' unflappable preparation for things that kept him from dropping said carefully prepared box the second he heard the disembodied voice. His expression was no doubt comical, although mostly alarmed, and he had no idea how to respond to such a thing. "Ah ... yes. Thank you." He read about the AI in a general way, but it was one thing to read, and another to hear. It was so familiar, like the way he might actually hear his own voice in his head. Or the way his voice might sound on the telephone, slightly more distant and proper.
It was eerie.
He took a long look at the map to be certain he knew where he was going. He wasn't a Stark, so it didn't take a split second glance and that was enough. There was an impressive amount of forest around here. It was easy to get turned around. Since he had no idea how to be polite to a machine, he nodded stiffly in the general direction of the door, as if that was to an actual creature. He went off toward the woods and while he was concerned briefly he got lost, he was relieved to see the cabin come into view.
This was a much different trip than he expected, but at least it wasn't raining. Jarvis approached the cabin with much less hesitation than the original door. Because he was getting a little grumpy about the trip. He knocked firmly on that door, and made sure to try and knock his boots off there, so they would be spotless by the time he stepped inside. "Mr. Stark. I do hope this isn't a prank of some kind."
